Doha, May 26 (NationPress) Congress MP Manish Tiwari, part of an all-party delegation led by NCP (SP) MP Supriya Sule, stated on Monday that the parliamentarians had a constructive and fruitful dialogue with Qatar's Shura Council, emphasizing India's right to safeguard its sovereignty.
The delegation is visiting Qatar to present details about India's Operation Sindoor and to highlight alarming revelations regarding Pakistan-sponsored terrorism and its blatant support for terror havens.
The all-party delegation, which includes Rajiv Pratap Rudy, Anurag Thakur, V. Muraleedharan, Congress leaders Manish Tewari and Anand Sharma, Lavu Sri Krishna Devarayalu from the Telugu Desam Party, Vikramjeet Singh Sawhney from the Aam Aadmi Party, and former diplomat Syed Akbaruddin, met with officials from Qatar's Shura Council.
Tiwari expressed on X, "Had a productive and constructive exchange of views with the Hon’ble Deputy Speaker of the Shura Council of Qatar, Her Excellency Sheikha Hamda bint Hassan Al Sulaiti, and her colleagues."
The delegation's meeting on Sunday delivered India's firm stance against Pakistan-sponsored cross-border terrorism and underscored the urgency to address nations that promote or shelter terrorism.
"I stressed that India is a civilizational continuum with a history spanning 5000 years, showcasing a melting pot of diverse religions and cultures," said Tiwari.
"India cannot be subjected to a low-cost proxy war by Pakistan through terrorism as a state policy, and thus reserves the right to take necessary actions to protect its sovereignty and civilizational values," he asserted.
The Shura Council of Qatar, the top legislative body, expressed unambiguous support for India, resonating with the delegation's message that terrorism in any form must be eradicated.
