Mumbai, June 25 (NationPress) As Karisma Kapoor celebrated her 51st birthday on Wednesday, actress Kareena Kapoor extended her heartfelt wishes, dubbing her sister the “strongest and the bestest girl in the universe.”
Kareena shared a nostalgic image on Instagram featuring her sister Karisma and her husband Saif Ali Khan, which she referred to as her “most favourite” snapshot of them both.
In her caption, Kareena expressed: “This is my most favourite picture of you both. To the strongest and the bestest girl in the universe…”
Reflecting on a challenging year, she added: “It’s been a tough year for us … but you know what … as they say tough times don’t last … the toughest sisters do…” This was a subtle reference to the knife attack on Saif in January and the recent passing of Karisma’s ex-husband Sunjay Kapur on June 12.
Kareena concluded her touching message with: “To my sister, my mother, my best friend … Happy birthday My Lolo @therealkarismakapoor.”
Many Bollywood stars joined in the celebration in the comments section, with Malaika Arora saying: “Love u Lolo.” Sonam Kapoor commented: “Happy birthday Lolo. We love you.” Bhumi Pednekar simply wished her with a “Happy Birthday” note.
In other updates, Kareena was last seen in the 2024 action movie “Singham Again,” directed by Rohit Shetty. The film, based on a story by Kshitij Patwardhan, features Ajay Devgn in the lead role.
It also includes stars like Akshay Kumar, Ranveer Singh, Tiger Shroff, Shweta Tiwari, Dayanand Shetty, Kareena Kapoor Khan, Deepika Padukone, Arjun Kapoor, and Jackie Shroff. This film marks the fifth installment of Shetty's Cop Universe franchise.
Sadly, Karisma’s ex-husband Sunjay Kapur passed away at the age of 53 while playing polo in England. Reports indicated that he suffered a cardiac arrest due to an allergic reaction to a bee sting. The former couple had two children, Samaira and Kiaan.
