Chandigarh, July 11 (NationPress) Shiromani Akali Dal (SAD) President Sukhbir Singh Badal urged Punjabis to come together to prevent the alleged plunder of Punjab and its assets by AAP leader Arvind Kejriwal. He accused Kejriwal of being accountable for the deteriorating law and order situation, along with a significant rise in extortion and targeted homicides.

Badal visited Ludhiana to check on Aniljit Singh Kamboj, who suffered serious injuries from a gangster shooting after refusing to give in to their extortion demands. Kamboj, father of Punjabi film actress Tanya, is currently hospitalized in Ludhiana. Badal expressed his concerns for Kamboj's health and reassured the family that SAD would support them in their pursuit of justice.

While addressing the media, Badal stated, "Punjabis are descending into lawlessness, yet Kejriwal, who is governing the state indirectly, is solely focused on amassing wealth." He pointed out that there has been a dramatic increase in targeted killings, citing the recent assassination of prominent businessman Sanjay Verma from Abohar.

"The circumstances have worsened to the extent that notable entrepreneurs are now investing in other states, while many remain in constant fear, lacking confidence in the state’s security measures to protect their lives." Badal urged the public to rally behind the Akali Dal, stating, "Our past SAD administrations have excelled at maintaining law and order. SAD has consistently championed peace and communal harmony, achieving this during our terms in power."

He asserted that the current situation has declined because Punjab is being controlled from Delhi.

Later, the SAD President conducted meetings in Jagraon and Ludhiana regarding the party’s conference scheduled for July 15, which will oppose the land "grabbing" initiative of the AAP government that aims to acquire 24,000 acres of fertile land surrounding Ludhiana under the guise of a land pooling scheme.

He declared that the local party factions in Jagraon and Ludhiana have assured him that they would thwart the AAP government’s attempts to sell these 24,000 acres to builders from Delhi at all costs.
