New Delhi, Oct 11 (NationPress) The Lok Janshakti Party (Ram Vilas), led by Union Minister Chirag Paswan, has organized an important meeting on Saturday to discuss seat-sharing agreements within the National Democratic Alliance (NDA) and to finalize candidates for the forthcoming Bihar Assembly elections.
As per sources, an agreement has been established between Union Food Processing Minister Chirag Paswan and the Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) concerning the allocation of seats, setting the stage for an official announcement of the NDA's seat-sharing strategy later today.
The LJP (Ram Vilas) is anticipated to receive approximately 25 to 26 seats, concluding a rigorous series of negotiations among alliance members.
Union Minister of State for Home, Nityanand Rai, has reportedly played a crucial role in bridging gaps.
The BJP assigned him the task of engaging in discussions with Chirag Paswan to reach a consensus that is agreeable to all parties involved.
In the last 24 hours, Rai is said to have met Paswan four times in New Delhi, with both leaders suggesting that the discussions have yielded a positive outcome.
In a conversation with IANS regarding the party's internal deliberations, LJP (RV) MP Shambhavi Choudhary stated, "Ultimately, the final decision regarding seat-sharing will rest with the party's chief. As elections draw near, such meetings are becoming increasingly frequent, and we are currently participating in one. Updates will be shared as soon as they are confirmed."
MP Veena Devi, on her way to the meeting, informed IANS, "With elections approaching, ticket allocation has been finalized. We will adhere to whatever the national president decides at the parliamentary members' meeting."
Meanwhile, Jitan Ram Manjhi, the former Chief Minister and president of the Hindustani Awam Morcha (Secular), remains steadfast in his demands regarding seat distribution.
Reports suggest that Manjhi is not only advocating for a specific number of seats but also wishes to contest from certain constituencies of his choice.
After concluding discussions with Chirag Paswan, Nityanand Rai also conferred with Union Education Minister Dharmendra Pradhan, who oversees the BJP's Bihar Assembly campaign, to update him on the proceedings.
The NDA in Bihar currently consists of five partners: the BJP, Janata Dal (United), LJP (RV), Hindustani Awam Morcha (Secular), and Rashtriya Lok Morcha.
