Patna, Sep 17 (NationPress) Union Minister and LJP (Ram Vilas) leader Chirag Paswan announced on Wednesday that the NDA's seat-sharing formula for the upcoming Bihar Assembly elections is set to be concluded shortly.
In a press briefing held in Hajipur, Paswan reassured that all is well within the alliance. He attributed the delay to the Vice Presidential election, which had occupied the leadership's attention.
“With the Vice President now in office, we will expedite the seat-sharing process very soon,” he remarked.
Addressing Hindustani Awam Morcha (HAM) chief Jitan Ram Manjhi's request for 20 seats, Paswan noted that such discussions are expected in politics.
“As the elections draw near, parties tend to raise such matters to bolster their stance. Jitan Ram Manjhi is a Union minister, and his son serves in the Bihar government. As a vital part of the NDA, we will collaborate and finalize the seat-sharing shortly,” he added.
Previously, Paswan's brother-in-law and Jamui MP Arun Bharti indicated that the party anticipates a significant number of seats—ranging from 43 to 137.
In the 2015 Assembly elections, the LJP contested 43 seats, while in 2020, they aimed for 137.
Chirag Paswan also sent birthday wishes to Prime Minister Narendra Modi and commended the launch of the Swasth Mahila Abhiyan.
“Today is a joyous occasion for us and the nation. The way the Prime Minister has initiated the Swasth Mahila Abhiyan for women resonates with me personally. When women are in good health, the whole family thrives. I come from a family where my mother is the primary caretaker; her health is pivotal for our wellbeing,” Paswan expressed.
He mentioned that the campaign, which began on the Prime Minister's 75th birthday, will continue until Dussehra. Health check-up camps for women will be organized at the block level, addressing concerns from minor issues to cancer.
“The campaign aims to ensure timely detection and treatment, as often minor ailments escalate due to lack of awareness,” Paswan concluded.
