Patna, April 23 (NationPress) In a notable political shift, Jamui MP and leader of the Lok Janshakti Party (Ram Vilas), Arun Bharti, has suggested that Chirag Paswan, the Union Minister and party president, may participate in the forthcoming Bihar Assembly elections.

During a media briefing in Munger on Wednesday, Bharti, who is also Chirag’s brother-in-law, sparked new political discussions in the state.

Describing Chirag as the “future of Bihar,” Bharti stated, “The public is eager to see him take on a larger role. Both party members and the general populace wish for Chirag Paswan to run in the Assembly elections.”

He mentioned that should there be agreement within the NDA and the circumstances are conducive, the party would extend a formal invitation to Chirag to participate in the 2025 Assembly contest.

Bharti also disclosed that the LJP (Ram Vilas) is gearing up to compete for all 243 seats in the state, while reaffirming its allegiance to the National Democratic Alliance (NDA).

“We hold great respect for the alliance. Wherever our allies are contesting, we will provide them with our full support. However, on the seats we contest, we will proceed with a well-defined strategy,” he remarked.

Regarding seat distribution, Bharti mentioned that internal deliberations within the NDA are underway, and conclusive decisions regarding constituencies and government roles will be made as the elections approach.

Chirag’s prospective entry into state politics could dramatically reshape the political dynamics in Bihar ahead of the 2025 elections. Recently, in a conversation with a private news outlet, Chirag himself acknowledged that “the people of Bihar are urging him to engage in the politics of Bihar.”

Meanwhile, his political adversaries have begun to respond. Vikassheel Insaan Party (VIP) leader Mukesh Sahani criticized Chirag, asserting that he lacks the political bravery of his late father, Ram Vilas Paswan.

Ram Vilas Paswan stood up for Dalits, EBCs, and OBCs. He even retracted support from the Atal Bihari Vajpayee government, which resulted in its downfall. Chirag, on the other hand, does not possess that courage,” Sahani stated on Tuesday.
