Patna, June 2 (NationPress) RJD leader and Patliputra MP Misa Bharti expressed her support for the potential candidacy of Chirag Paswan in the upcoming 2025 Bihar Assembly elections, but emphasized that he should first resign from his position in the Union Ministry.
This statement follows comments made by Arun Bharti, Jamui MP and Chirag Paswan's brother-in-law, who indicated that the LJP (Ram Vilas) chief may seek election from a general seat in the upcoming polls.
While addressing media representatives in Patna, Misa Bharti remarked, “Chirag Paswan is welcome to enter the Bihar assembly elections. However, prior to that, he must vacate his position in the Union Cabinet and relinquish the Hajipur Lok Sabha seat, which is currently reserved.”
Misa Bharti chose not to elaborate on the internal affairs of the BJP-led NDA, stating, “This concerns the NDA's internal matters. It is now up to the BJP and JD-U to manage the situation.”
This development coincides with comments from Arun Bharti, suggesting that Chirag's participation in the Assembly elections could bolster the NDA's prospects and invigorate its support base.
Misa Bharti also resonated with Congress president Mallikarjun Kharge's criticism of Prime Minister Narendra Modi regarding his recent visit to Bihar, where he inaugurated the Patna airport expansion and conducted a roadshow without meeting the families of martyrs.
“Mallikarjun Kharge raised a valid concern. I completely endorse his statement. Despite spending two days in Bihar, the Prime Minister failed to meet the grieving families. Why was that?”
Shifting her attention to the recent Muzaffarpur rape incident, where a 10-year-old girl tragically passed away due to delayed medical assistance at PMCH, Misa Bharti launched a fierce critique of the Nitish Kumar government.
“The police force and health officials neglected the victim. This represents a total administrative failure under Nitish Kumar’s double-engine government. The Prime Minister has also remained silent on the horrific Muzaffarpur rape case.”
The Muzaffarpur rape incident has ignited political outrage statewide, with opposition parties relentlessly criticizing the NDA for alleged mismanagement and negligence.
