Madhya Pradesh Government to Launch ‘AI Mission’ in Phased Approach
Synopsis
Key Takeaways
Bhopal, March 21 (NationPress) The government of Madhya Pradesh announced on Saturday that it will soon begin a phased implementation of its ‘AI Mission’ to enhance the efficiency of the administrative system and foster development across the state.
This initiative will unfold in several stages, starting with foundational infrastructure enhancements in the financial year 2026-27.
In 2027-28, the focus will shift towards scaling successful AI applications across various government sectors.
From 2028 onwards, AI technology is expected to evolve into a permanent institutional capability within the governance system.
The government anticipates that this initiative will be crucial in optimizing service delivery and broadening economic opportunities.
“Our administration is dedicated to ensuring that AI technology is accessible and affordable for every segment of society. This will enable quicker, smarter, and personalized services for citizens, especially for farmers, rural populations, youth, and marginalized communities,” the government stated.
Moreover, the AI system will assist in the early identification of potential risks in essential areas such as agriculture, health, nutrition, and disaster management.
To improve administrative efficiency, officials will have access to AI-powered tools for drafting documents, data analysis, decision support, and data management.
“AI implementation will extend beyond mere pilot projects and will be integrated into the state’s key programs. For example, its application in initiatives like E-Seva and Sampada 2.0 will ensure real-time tracking, thereby enhancing the accessibility of government services,” the statement added.
The government also plans to cultivate a robust AI ecosystem by partnering with startups, educational institutions, and industry stakeholders.
Through AI training programs for youth and government officials, the state aims to equip its workforce for future technological needs.
This announcement follows the Madhya Pradesh Regional AI Impact Conference, co-hosted by the IndiaAI Mission under the Ministry of Electronics and Information Technology (MeitY) and the state government in Bhopal earlier this January.
