Mumbai, June 25 (NationPress) American actor Mahershala Ali is gearing up to portray Duncan Kincaid in Jurassic World: Rebirth. He has revealed his thoughts on the character, describing him as a modern-day pirate with a good heart.
This film unfolds after the events of Jurassic World Dominion, which hit theaters in 2022. Jurassic World: Rebirth takes us to a secluded equatorial area where the remaining dinosaurs have seamlessly adjusted to a flourishing ecosystem, according to reports.
At the core of this new narrative are three enormous dinosaurs, believed to be crucial for a miraculous, life-altering drug that could change the course of humanity.
Discussing his character, Mahershala Ali expressed: “I valued the chance to be part of a project that my daughter could actually view,” he noted, emphasizing his excitement at landing a role that is quite rare for him.
“Duncan is distinct from any character I've portrayed in recent years. He embodies the spirit of a modern pirate, yet possesses a good heart.”
Further elaborating, he shared: “He’s perpetually on the move, driven by strong motivations. I was thrilled as an actor to immerse myself in that and portray it. Although I haven't encountered many action-adventure scripts, this one struck me as an exhilarating representation of the genre.”
Jurassic World: Rebirth is helmed by Gareth Edwards and serves as a standalone sequel to Jurassic World Dominion, marking the fourth installment in the Jurassic World series and the seventh overall in the Jurassic Park franchise.
The film features a star-studded cast including Scarlett Johansson, Mahershala Ali, Jonathan Bailey, Rupert Friend, Manuel Garcia-Rulfo, and Ed Skrein. It is set to hit theaters globally on July 4.
David Koepp, who co-wrote the original Jurassic Park in 1993 and its sequel, The Lost World: Jurassic Park in 1997, is involved in this project as well.
