The highlight of the event is the smallest Bhagavad Gita, presented by Apoorv Shah from Navrang Printers, Ahmedabad. Priced at a mere Rs 80, this remarkable book contains 400 pages, weighs just 80 grams, and measures only 1 inch in height and 1.5 inches in length, compact enough to fit in a pocket.
In an interview with IANS, Apoorv Shah, the creator of this compact Gita in Hindi, stated, “My aim was to produce a version of the Bhagavad Gita that could be easily transported. This edition is practical, and it has garnered interest from the younger generation.”
The first edition was launched in 2019, and to date, over 500 copies have been sold. At this year's fair, Shah brought 100 copies, with 91 already sold.
Dinesh Gupta, a retired PCS officer from Lucknow, expressed, “The Gita is a profound source of inspiration. I’m thrilled to have discovered such a unique version.”
Another captivating feature at the fair is Shah's cutout book on Prime Minister Narendra Modi, which creatively illustrates the PM's life and daily activities. Priced at Rs 250, this 11-inch long, 180-gram book has captivated the public's imagination, particularly among the youth. Shah disclosed that he has sold 100 copies within six days.
“The young population of Lucknow is enthusiastic about reading about PM Modi in such an inventive format,” Shah remarked.
The Bhagavad Gita, commonly known as the Gita, is a vital Hindu scripture, believed to date back to the second or first century BCE, forming a part of the epic poem Mahabharata. The Gita synthesizes various aspects of Indian spiritual thought, encompassing Vedic principles of dharma, samkhya-based yoga, jnana, and bhakti.
