Ujjain, Dec 26 (NationPress) In a shocking incident that raises serious concerns about jail security, three undertrial inmates facing grave allegations, including rape and murder, managed to escape from the Khachrod sub-jail located near Nagda in Ujjain district late Thursday evening. This jailbreak has ignited significant alarm and prompted a large-scale manhunt by law enforcement.

The escapees have been recognized as Narayan, a resident of Chandwasla village in Bhatpachlana, who is charged in a rape case; Gopal, son of Bapulal from Malakhedi; and Govind, son of Sharam from Nagda, both implicated in a murder case.

All three were being held in the sub-jail, approximately 70 km from Ujjain city.

Initial police reports suggest that the trio executed a meticulously planned escape around 7.30 p.m.

They allegedly obtained the key to the women's ward, from which they acquired a ladder.

Using this ladder, they scaled the jail's perimeter wall and leapt to freedom on the opposite side. Their breakout went unnoticed until the scheduled prisoner headcount later that evening, triggering immediate panic within the facility.

Jail officials promptly informed the Khachrod police station, leading to the initiation of a comprehensive search operation. Police teams have been dispatched throughout the region, with checkpoints established and neighboring districts alerted.

Images of the three fugitives have been extensively circulated on social media and shared with police networks to facilitate their swift capture.

Authorities are urging the public to report any sightings but caution against approaching the escapees due to the seriousness of their alleged offenses. Further details are pending.

Previously, a prisoner accused in a Rs 18 lakh robbery case was reportedly taken from Khachrod sub-jail for medical reasons, during which he allegedly conspired with a constable and escaped from a location in Ratlam.
