New Delhi, June 24 (NationPress) Prime Minister Narendra Modi engaged in a phone conversation with his Mauritian counterpart, Dr Navinchandra Ramgoolam, on Tuesday, where both leaders deliberated on enhancing the India-Mauritius Enhanced Strategic Partnership.
“It was great to connect with my friend, Prime Minister Dr Navinchandra Ramgoolam. We discussed ways to further fortify our Enhanced Strategic Partnership and regional matters. Mauritius is a vital ally in India’s Vision MAHASAGAR and our Neighbourhood First policy,” PM Modi shared on X following their discussion.
Throughout the dialogue, both leaders underscored the unique and special relationship between India and Mauritius, reaffirming their dedication to deepening the Enhanced Strategic Partnership.
They talked about ongoing cooperation in numerous fields, including development partnerships, capacity building, defense, maritime security, digital infrastructure, and cultural exchanges.
PM Modi also acknowledged PM Ramgoolam's enthusiastic participation in the 11th International Day of Yoga.

This visit marked PM Modi as the Chief Guest at Mauritius' National Day for the second time, with the first being in 2015.
During the celebrations, the President of Mauritius, Dharambeer Gokhool, awarded the 'Grand Commander of the Order of the Star and Key of the Indian Ocean' (G.C.S.K), the highest civilian honor in Mauritius, to Prime Minister Modi.
