All funds were routed through the Direct Benefit Transfer (DBT) system directly into women's bank accounts, officials confirmed.
What the Chief Minister Said
Chief Minister Yadav announced the transfer on social media platform X earlier in the day. 'Today, from Maihar, I will transfer the 39th instalment of the Ladli Behna Yojana into the accounts of eligible sisters. Along with this, an additional amount of Rs 250 will also be sent to the accounts of sisters as a Raksha Bandhan gift,' he wrote.
Development Projects Launched in Maihar
On the sidelines of the event, Chief Minister Yadav also inaugurated and performed groundbreaking ceremonies for various development projects worth ₹256 crore in Maihar district. The programme served as both a welfare milestone and a platform for regional infrastructure announcements.
Scheme Background and Cumulative Impact
The Mukhyamantri Ladli Behna Yojana was launched by the Madhya Pradesh government in June 2023 to provide recurring financial assistance to economically vulnerable women in the state. According to official figures, a cumulative ₹63,248 crore has been transferred across 39 instalments since the scheme's inception. For the financial year 2026-27, the state government has earmarked a budgetary provision of ₹23,882.81 crore for the scheme — underscoring its scale as one of Madhya Pradesh's flagship welfare commitments. The latest disbursement reinforces the government's stated priority of channelling assistance directly to women through the DBT mechanism, bypassing intermediaries.
