Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) National President Nitin Nabin is set to launch the party's month-long 'Seva Sankalp Abhiyan' from Ujjain, Madhya Pradesh, on 17 September — coinciding with Prime Minister Narendra Modi's birthday — marking his first official visit to the state since assuming the party's top post. The campaign will run through 17 October, framing Modi's 25 years in public life as the centrepiece of a mass outreach drive across Madhya Pradesh.

Nabin will formally flag off the Abhiyan alongside Madhya Pradesh Chief Minister Mohan Yadav and State BJP President Hemant Khandelwal in Ujjain, widely known as the city of Mahakal. Later the same evening, at 7 pm, Nabin is scheduled to participate in the 'Ashirwad ka Diya' programme at Ramghat on the banks of the Shipra river.

Chief Minister Yadav reviewed logistical preparations with commissioners and collectors of the Indore and Ujjain divisions via video conferencing ahead of the launch. 'The Seva Sankalp Abhiyan is beginning with the Prime Minister's birthday, and 58 lakh lamps will be lit simultaneously across the state,' Yadav said.

What the Campaign Covers

The Abhiyan is structured around five broad pillars: service, public participation, creativity, innovation, and the vision of a developed India. 'The Seva Sankalp Abhiyan will be organised across Madhya Pradesh from September 17 to October 17, with a range of programmes based on service, public participation, creativity, innovation and the resolve of a developed India,' State BJP President Khandelwal said.

Planned activities include painting and speech competitions on the theme of 'Viksit Bharat' in schools, a statewide cleanliness drive on 2 October, and health and nutrition awareness sessions at Anganwadi centres. At 11,404 Shakti Kendras, the party will organise 'Seva Ki Kahani' sessions to highlight beneficiaries of Central and state welfare schemes.

Grassroots Mobilisation Strategy

Under the 'Seva Setu' initiative, camps will be held to connect eligible citizens to government schemes, while the 'Seva Mera Yogdan' component calls on party workers and citizens to undertake 25 types of service activities, each with a minimum of 25 minutes of voluntary contribution. Padyatras, cycle rallies, and motorcycle rallies across districts and villages are planned from 7 October onwards.

Culmination and Political Significance

The Abhiyan is scheduled to conclude on 17 October with 'Seva Sushasan Samvad', an event designed to connect gram panchayat representatives with national BJP leadership. Nabin's visit carries added political significance — as the newly installed national president making his maiden state trip, his presence is intended to signal organisational momentum ahead of future electoral cycles. The BJP has framed the entire campaign around the narrative of 'seva' (service), linking Modi's birthday celebrations directly to beneficiary outreach and voluntary work at the ground level.
