Mumbai, Jan 30 (NationPress) Television actor Nakuul Mehta recently shared insights in an exclusive interview with IANS about how his Space Gen co-star and actress Shriya Saran has been a significant mentor, both professionally and personally. He reflected on experiences that enhanced his admiration for her as a senior artist and individual.

Nakuul recounted a specific incident during the filming of the web series Space Gen, where he and co-actor Daanish Sait found themselves struggling to capture the essence of a particular scene despite numerous attempts.

It was Shriya Saran, he noted, who stepped in with both empathy and leadership. He explained, “When Daanish and I were completely stuck on a scene while shooting for Space Gen and couldn’t hit the right tone, we kept trying but were unsuccessful. Shriya overheard our plight while in her vanity van.”

He elaborated, “She invited us to her space, and we anticipated a reprimand for our lack of progress. Instead, she sat down with us and asked what we wanted to eat. That simple act instantly eased our tension. Following that, she gently proposed we approach the scene differently. That moment transformed our professional outlook.”

Nakuul highlighted the significance of having a mentor in the industry, stating, “A mentor is crucial, especially on set, and Shriya was our guiding force. She continues to mentor us.”

He further revealed that Shriya’s mentorship extended beyond professional boundaries.

During the filming of Space Gen, both he and Daanish were unknowingly preparing for fatherhood. It was during this time that Shriya provided guidance on how to support their partners through pregnancy. From managing mood swings to offering emotional assistance, Shriya played a pivotal role in helping them navigate this journey with care and understanding.

Nakuul mentioned, “While working on the show, my wife was pregnant, but we hadn’t disclosed it yet, whereas everyone knew about Daanish’s wife’s pregnancy. The amusing part was that Shriya would frequently advise Daanish in between scenes on how to be a great father and a supportive husband during pregnancy, and I would be there, quietly absorbing her advice and making mental notes, wishing to apply it in my own life later. That’s why I assert that Shriya is truly our mentor in every sense.”
