Mumbai, Jan 25 (NationPress) Bollywood actress and South film star Shriya Saran is celebrating her 25th anniversary in the entertainment realm this year. In a conversation with IANS, she reminisced about the dramatic evolution of the film industry, particularly highlighting the transition from the pre-social media era to the current era dominated by social platforms.
During this exclusive discussion, Shriya elaborated on the transformations she has observed on film sets over the years. She noted that in the past, the experience was markedly different. “The lights were harsh and would hurt your eyes, the cameras were different, and I remember waiting on set until I heard the sound of the camera rolling,” she recounted.
She pointed out that modern technology has advanced significantly, with softer lighting and enhanced cameras making the working environment much more accommodating for actors.
The Drishyam actress also commented on the industry's shifting structure over the years. “Previously, you interacted with one manager. Now there are agencies, and you have to navigate through numerous individuals, many of whom are quite young,” she said, acknowledging that the younger generation brings a unique set of skills and insights. “They have knowledge that we may not possess, and it’s essential to embrace that change.”
Reflecting on the emotional rollercoaster of a lengthy career, Saran shared, “There are days when you feel down and days when you feel on top of the world. You learn to manage these fluctuations by surrounding yourself with supportive people.”
In crediting her successful journey of 25 years in the glitzy world of cinema, Shriya emphasized her growth is largely due to her collaborations. She stated that she is a product of the directors and co-actors she has partnered with throughout her career, adding that without the backing of her team, her path would have been much more challenging.
For those unfamiliar, Shriya launched her acting career in 2001 with the Telugu movie Ishtam and has since appeared in numerous successful films across various languages, including Santosham, Tagore, Chatrapathi, Sivaji: The Boss, Awarapan, and the Drishyam franchise.
Currently, she is receiving acclaim for her role in the web series Space Gen, which draws inspiration from India’s Chandrayaan mission.
