This specialized banking package for government personnel features a zero-balance salary account with enhanced services such as complimentary remittances (RTGS/NEFT/UPI), cheque facilities, preferential interest rates on loans for housing, education, vehicles, and personal needs, as well as reductions in loan processing fees. Additionally, they will enjoy waivers on locker fees and benefits associated with family banking.
Moreover, government employees will receive improved insurance coverage, including personal accident insurance of up to Rs 1.50 crore, air accident insurance reaching Rs 2 crore, and permanent total & partial disability coverage up to Rs 1.50 crore. They will also be eligible for built-in term life insurance protection of up to Rs 20 lakh, along with an option to increase insurance coverage at an affordable premium.
An extensive health insurance plan for themselves and their families, with a base plan and an additional top-up option to boost coverage, will be available at an economical premium.
In addition, government personnel will have access to enhanced perks on debit and credit cards, airport lounge access, reward schemes, cashback offers, unlimited transactions, and no charges.
The DFS has recommended that public sector banks actively promote these offerings through their official websites, organize awareness camps within government departments, proactively engage with Central government employees to provide detailed product information, and assist in transferring existing salary accounts to this new package with employees' consent.
