Noida Police boosts festive security, to monitor social media in sensitive zones
Synopsis
Key Takeaways
Gautam Buddh Nagar Commissionerate Police has stepped up security arrangements ahead of the upcoming festive season, directing enhanced patrolling in sensitive areas, deployment of additional personnel at crowded locations, and continuous social media surveillance to curb the spread of misleading or inflammatory content. The measures were finalised at a high-level review meeting held under the direction of Police Commissioner Laxmi Singh.
Key Directives from the Review Meeting
DCP Central Noida Dr. Praveen Ranjan Singh chaired a detailed review with senior officers, police station in-charges, and outpost in-charges, covering law and order, crime trends, and police functioning across jurisdictions. The meeting was attended by ADCP Central Noida Swatantra Kumar Singh, ACP First Central Noida Diksha Singh, ACP Second Kamlesh Kant, and ACP Third Rajiv Kumar. Station in-charges from Phase-2, Phase-3, Bisrakh, Sector 63, Surajpur, Ecotech-3, Sector 142, and Badalpur police stations were also present.
Officers were directed to deploy adequate personnel at major religious places, markets, and crowded areas, and to intensify both foot patrolling and vehicle-based patrols to ensure a visible security presence in sensitive localities.
Social Media Monitoring and Digital Policing
A key emphasis of the meeting was the real-time monitoring of social media posts, messages, and other online activity to prevent the circulation of content that could disturb communal peace. Officers were instructed to take prompt preventive action at the first indication of any potential disruption.
To strengthen digital policing, Dr. Praveen Ranjan Singh directed officers to make effective use of the Yaksh app, e-evidence, and e-summon systems. Regular monitoring and progress reviews of ongoing operations were also stressed.
Crime Prevention and Warrant Execution
The meeting placed special emphasis on the early arrest of wanted criminals and individuals facing warrants. Officers were asked to conduct regular checks on suspicious persons and vehicles, and to ensure effective night patrolling. The timely detection and disposal of pending criminal cases was also reviewed in detail, with instructions to expedite investigations without compromising quality.
Women's Safety and Grievance Redressal
Women's safety cases and complaints received at public hearings were reviewed separately. Officers were directed to ensure their timely resolution while maintaining investigation quality. The status of complaints received through the Integrated Grievance Redressal System (IGRS) was also discussed, with directions to clear the backlog promptly.
Foreign National Verification
The verification of Nigerian citizens residing in the Central Noida area was flagged as a separate agenda item. Concerned officials were instructed to update records and initiate legal action wherever required under established rules.
DCP Dr. Praveen Ranjan Singh concluded by urging all officers to discharge their responsibilities diligently, improve public communication, and ensure swift police responses — stressing that there should be no laxity in security arrangements during the festive period. With multi-layered surveillance and enhanced ground presence now in place, all eyes will be on how smoothly the Noida district navigates the festive calendar.
