Guwahati/Itanagar, Sep 10 (NationPress) Following the significant contribution from Tripura, two additional BJP-led Northeast states, Assam and Arunachal Pradesh, have each pledged Rs 5 crore to the Himachal Pradesh Chief Minister’s Relief Fund for flood relief efforts.

On Wednesday, Assam’s Minister for Power, Employment and Entrepreneurship, and Medical Education, Prasanta Phukan, presented a cheque of Rs 5 crore from the Assam Chief Minister’s Relief Fund to Himachal Pradesh Chief Minister Sukhvinder Singh Sukhu at Himachal Sadan in New Delhi.

An official from Guwahati reported that during the meeting, Phukan expressed that the Assam government stands in solidarity with the people of Himachal during their crisis.

Sukhu conveyed his gratitude to Assam’s Chief Minister Himanta Biswa Sarma and the citizens of Assam for their generous support in these challenging times.

Phukan was accompanied by Bikram Newar, the Assistant Resident Commissioner of Assam Bhawan.

Additionally, a truck carrying relief supplies, including utensils and mattresses, was dispatched from Assam House in Delhi on Tuesday.

Meanwhile, in Itanagar, an official announced that Arunachal Pradesh Chief Minister Pema Khandu has also allocated Rs 5 crore from the Chief Minister’s Relief Fund to assist those impacted by the recent floods in Himachal Pradesh.

This sanctioned fund will support the Himachal Pradesh Aapda Raahat Kosh–2025, established by the state government to gather resources and provide extensive relief to those affected by the natural disaster.

An official statement highlighted that Chief Minister Khandu expressed profound concern for the losses endured due to the floods, reaffirming Arunachal Pradesh’s pledge to assist fellow citizens in times of need.

Previously, on September 6, Tripura Chief Minister Manik Saha and other leaders had contributed Rs 5 crore to the Himachal Pradesh Chief Minister's Relief Fund and flagged off five vehicles loaded with relief materials worth nearly Rs 50 lakh for the flood-hit state from Agartala.
