NSE-Listed Firms' Market Capitalization Grows by Almost 7% in FY25 with 11.3 Crore Investors

New Delhi, March 31 (NationPress) The market capitalization of companies listed on the NSE reached Rs 410.87 lakh crore ($4.81 trillion) in FY25 (as of March 31), rising from Rs 384.2 lakh crore ($4.61 trillion) in FY24 — marking a 6.94% year-on-year increase, according to data released by the National Stock Exchange on Monday.
The total number of companies listed on the NSE was 2,720 (as of March 31, 2025).
The unique registered investor count reached 11.3 crore (as of March 28), with a total of 21.94 crore unique accounts (as of March 27). New investor registrations in FY25 stood at 2.09 crore (up to March 28), according to the NSE data.
During the financial year, there were 242 initial public offerings (IPOs), raising a total of Rs 1.7 lakh crore.
The market capitalization of NSE Emerge (SME) listed firms reached Rs 1.8 lakh crore ($20.8 billion) in FY25, reflecting a substantial 50% increase from Rs 1.2 lakh crore ($14.8 billion) in FY24.
The cumulative volume of GIFT Nifty contracts for FY25 reached 23.99 million contracts, with a total turnover of $1.111 trillion.
Since the start of full-scale operations in July 2023, GIFT Nifty has achieved a cumulative volume of 38.99 million contracts and a cumulative turnover of $1.72 trillion as of March 28, 2025.
The total traded value surged from $611.95 billion to $1,111.14 billion, an impressive 82% growth.
The average monthly value increased from $67.99 billion to $92.60 billion, a growth of 36%. Meanwhile, the average daily traded value rose from $3.19 billion to $4.26 billion, reflecting a 34% increase.
On NSE IX (GIFT IFSC), the overall notional turnover surpassed the $1 trillion benchmark in FY25.
The total notional turnover of the NSE IX across all products for FY25 reached $1,144 billion, compared to $735 billion for FY24, according to the NSE data.
A total of 65,031 unique clients registered in FY25 (up to March 28), a significant increase from 316 in FY24.
