Chandigarh, Feb 21 (NationPress) In a remarkable development for the Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) in Punjab, more than 200 students and young individuals from Panjab University in Chandigarh, affiliated with the Hindustan Students Association, officially joined the party on Saturday.
This event was graced by the presence of Haryana Chief Minister Nayab Singh Saini, along with prominent BJP leaders and dedicated party workers.
During his address, in the company of State Vice-President Kewal Singh Dhillon, Dr. Subhash Sharma, State General Secretary Parminder Brar, State Media Head Vineet Joshi, State Co-Cashier Sukhwinder Goldy, State Protocol Secretary Khushwant Rai Gigga, Charanjit Brar, N.K. Verma, and Sanjiv Vashisht, the Chief Minister extended a warm welcome to the youth entering the BJP fold, emphasizing that their choice showcases an increasing faith in the leadership and vision of Prime Minister Narendra Modi.
He remarked that under Modi’s leadership, India has witnessed extraordinary progress in infrastructure, connectivity, and international stature over the last 11 years. The government's initiatives, such as the expansion of highways and railways, along with transformative programs like Mudra Yojana, Start-Up India, Stand-Up India, and Make in India, have been pivotal in empowering youth and creating job opportunities.
Highlighting Haryana’s model of transparent governance, CM Saini noted that the state has provided over two lakh government jobs in the last decade without the influence of “parchi and kharchi,” ensuring that recruitment is based on merit. He asserted that the government has taken stringent measures against drug traffickers while emphasizing youth empowerment through sports, skill development, and overseas employment initiatives.
In his appeal to Punjab’s youth, CM Saini urged them to steer clear of drugs and actively engage in nation-building, expressing confidence that the BJP will emerge as a formidable alternative in the state. He encouraged the newly inducted members to fortify the party at the grassroots level and contribute to a progressive and corruption-free Punjab.
