New Delhi, March 7 (NationPress) - In a thrilling display of talent at the National Selection Trials 3 (Group A) held at the Dr. Karni Singh Shooting Range in the National Capital Region (NCR), Divyansh Singh Panwar and Khyati Chaudhary claimed victory in the men's and women's 10m Air Rifle events, respectively. Olympian Anish Bhanwala added to the excitement by winning the T3 final of the 25m Rapid Fire Pistol event.
In the men’s 10m Air Rifle finals, Tokyo Olympian Divyansh topped the competition with a score of 252.5, edging out Parth Rakesh Mane, who finished second at 251.5. Shahu Tushar Mane secured third place with a score of 230.9.
The women’s finals featured an intense shoot-off, where Khyati triumphed over Mahit Sandhu after both athletes finished the initial round tied at 251.4. In the shoot-off, Khyati delivered an impressive shot of 10.9, while Mahit followed with 10.2. Mehuli Ghosh took home third place, scoring 230.1.
Earlier in the men’s qualification round, Dhanush Srikanth led with a score of 633.2, closely followed by Mahesh Babu Bathula at 632.6. National record holder Himanshu Dhillon and Niraj Kumar qualified in third and fourth places with scores of 632.1. Parth Mane, Divyansh, and Shahu filled the next spots with scores of 631.8, 630.6, and 630.4, respectively. National Champion Kiran Ankush Jadhav rounded out the top eight with 630.3.
In the women’s event, Mehuli qualified first with a score of 633.4, followed by Sonam Uttam Maskar at 633.2. Tilottama Sen secured third place with 632.0, and Khyati and Mahit finished with scores of 630.7 and 629.7, respectively. Vidarsa K. Vinod, Sakshi Sunil Padekar, and Isha Anil Taksale completed the top eight with scores ranging from 629.4 to 629.1.
In the 25m Rapid Fire Pistol finals, Olympian Anish Bhanwala showcased his skill by scoring 33 and clinching the first place. Rajkanwar Singh Sandhu followed with a score of 31, while Bhavesh Shekhawat edged out Vijayveer Sidhu in a shoot-off to secure third place with a score of 29. Vijayveer settled for fourth with 23 hits.
During the qualification, Bhavesh led with a combined score of 583-17x, while Rajkanwar followed closely at 581-20x. Adarsh Singh qualified in third with 580-15x, and Anish scored 578-15x. The remaining spots were filled by Neeraj Kumar, Vijayveer, Omkar Singh, and Pradeep Singh Shekhawat, with scores from 576 to 575.
