Has PhonePe Payment Gateway Launched ‘Bolt’ for Visa and Mastercard Transactions?
Synopsis
Key Takeaways
New Delhi, Jan 10 (NationPress) PhonePe Payment Gateway (PhonePe PG) has officially unveiled the ‘PhonePe PG Bolt’ feature for transactions involving Visa and Mastercard credit and debit cards.
This innovative solution employs device tokenization to ensure a secure and streamlined in-app checkout experience for users of the PhonePe platform, as well as its merchant partners.
This functionality allows users to tokenize their Mastercard and Visa cards on the PhonePe app just once, enabling easy usage of their stored cards across any merchant that has integrated with PhonePe PG, eliminating the need for separate tokenization with each merchant.
By substituting sensitive card information with secure tokens, this system removes the need for CVV entry on subsequent transactions conducted on the same device. This design simplifies the payment journey, keeping the user within the merchant’s app throughout the transaction and removing the traditional requirement to redirect to external pages.
“The introduction of the PhonePe PG Bolt feature for Visa and Mastercard marks a major milestone in our mission to simplify digital payments for millions of Indians. By harnessing the power of device tokenization, we are facilitating a shift from the outdated, complicated checkout process to a secure, one-click payment experience,” stated Yuvraj Singh Shekhawat, Chief Business Officer of Merchant Business at PhonePe Limited.
“This not only boosts user convenience but also enables our merchant partners to optimize their growth through industry-leading success rates and minimized drop-offs,” Shekhawat further commented.
Utilizing PhonePe’s native SDK, merchants can achieve improved transaction success rates and significantly quicker checkout speeds. This efficiency is attributed to the removal of manual card entry and reduced technical hand-offs among payment entities.
Additionally, the solution offers merchants a customizable interface that can seamlessly integrate into their existing app flow, helping maintain brand consistency while minimizing transaction drop-off rates.
