Srinagar, July 3 (NationPress) Amidst devotional religious chants and fervor, hundreds of pilgrims commenced their sacred journey to the holy cave shrine from both the Baltal and Nunwan (Pahalgam) base camps on Thursday.
The first group to arrive at the cave shrine will be the Yatris departing from the Baltal base camp, as their trek spans just 14 kilometers. In contrast, those taking the traditional Pahalgam route will take four days to cover a 46-kilometer distance on foot.
Union Minister Shobha Karandlaje, who joined the Yatris from the Baltal base camp, expressed, "Today, we are all set to have the darshan of Bholenath. It's a wonderful feeling... May God bless us all. The atmosphere here is delightful... everyone feels good due to the ongoing development work here too."
The Yatris were officially sent off from the Domail Baltal base camp in Ganderbal district by Divisional Commissioner Kashmir, Vijay Kumar Bidhuri.
