Bhopal, Aug 19 (NationPress) Madhya Pradesh Chief Minister Mohan Yadav declared on Tuesday that individuals who cast "evil eyes" on women, along with drug mafias and those involved in "love jihad", will face severe consequences without exceptions.
During his address at the ‘Raksha-Bandhan’ mahotsav (celebration) held at Aamir Majestic Park in Bhopal, he received a ceremonial rakhi from the women participants.
Yadav emphasized, "Whether it is 'love jihad' or the drug mafia, all such criminal activities will be dealt with strictly, and every criminal will be brought to justice. The state government is dedicated to combating all forms of crime and ensuring the complete safety of women," he stated at the event.
He also mentioned that under the leadership of Prime Minister Narendra Modi, the state government is vigorously promoting women’s empowerment. "The affection of sisters is the greatest strength of my life," he added during his speech.
In addition, he noted that prior to Raksha Bandhan, beneficiaries of the Ladli Behna Yojana received their monthly payments along with an additional festive gift of Rs 250. Starting from Bhai Dooj after Diwali, beneficiaries will receive Rs 1,500 every month. Furthermore, the Madhya Pradesh government is ensuring a 35 percent reservation for women in government jobs.
Yadav highlighted the increasing participation of women in democratic institutions, including the Lok Sabha and State Assembly.
Additionally, the CM announced development projects worth Rs 200 crore, including a sewer line initiative in the Huzur Assembly constituency in Bhopal. He also introduced a new industrial policy that offers women working in industries, especially in employment-driven sectors like garments, a monthly incentive of Rs 5,000.
