Dindori (Madhya Pradesh), Oct 11 (NationPress) In a significant advancement for Indian agriculture, Prime Minister Narendra Modi introduced groundbreaking initiatives valued at Rs 42,000 crore during the GST Utsav held at the National Agricultural Science Campus in Pusa, New Delhi.
The event was streamed live at the Collectorate Auditorium in Dindori, a tribal area of Madhya Pradesh, and featured the launch of the PM Dhan Dhanya Krishi Yojana, the Mission for Aatmanirbharta in Pulses (aimed at achieving self-sufficiency in pulse production), in addition to over 1,100 projects under the Agricultural Infrastructure Fund, covering sectors such as animal husbandry, fisheries, and food processing.
The ceremony was attended by Shahpura legislator Omprakash Dhurve, who commenced the event by lighting a lamp and honoring a portrait of Goddess Saraswati.
Collector Anju Pawan Bhadoria extended a warm welcome to dignitaries including Dhurve, District Panchayat President Rudesh Parste, BJP District President Chamru Singh Netam, and District Panchayat CEO Divyanshu Chaudhary.
Before the Prime Minister’s live address, public representatives informed farmers about the government’s welfare schemes, generating excitement among participants.
Collector Bhadoria emphasized the importance of these initiatives, which aim to assist around 100 districts with low crop yields and inadequate farmer incomes.
“These schemes are crafted to elevate farmers' conditions by enhancing productivity and ensuring their economic stability,” she remarked.
The PM Dhan Dhanya Krishi Yojana, along with reduced GST rates on agricultural tools, is intended to alleviate financial pressures and modernize farming techniques.
Farmers in Dindori expressed their heartfelt appreciation for these initiatives. Local farmer Ramkishore stated,
“The Dhan Dhanya Yojana is a transformative opportunity for us. Lower GST rates make equipment more accessible, boosting our productivity.”
Another farmer, Chanchalesh Vaspe, added, “We are sincerely grateful to the Prime Minister for these farmer-oriented schemes, which will change lives in Dindori.”
