New Delhi, Oct 11 (NationPress) As Prime Minister Narendra Modi launched the Pradhan Mantri Dhan Dhanya Krishi Yojana (PM-DDKY) and the 'Mission for Aatmanirbharta in Pulses', agricultural organizations, farmers, and state administrations throughout India expressed their enthusiasm for these initiatives, deeming them pivotal actions for farmer welfare and agricultural autonomy.

With an overall budget of Rs 35,440 crore — comprising Rs 24,000 crore for PM-DDKY and Rs 11,440 crore for the pulses initiative — the programs are designed to boost productivity, increase the land dedicated to pulse farming, enhance value chains from procurement to processing, and mitigate losses, focusing on critical challenges faced by farmers.
