New Delhi, Oct 11 (NationPress) As Prime Minister Narendra Modi launched the Pradhan Mantri Dhan Dhanya Krishi Yojana (PM-DDKY) and the 'Mission for Aatmanirbharta in Pulses', agricultural organizations, farmers, and state administrations throughout India expressed their enthusiasm for these initiatives, deeming them pivotal actions for farmer welfare and agricultural autonomy.

With an overall budget of Rs 35,440 crore — comprising Rs 24,000 crore for PM-DDKY and Rs 11,440 crore for the pulses initiative — the programs are designed to boost productivity, increase the land dedicated to pulse farming, enhance value chains from procurement to processing, and mitigate losses, focusing on critical challenges faced by farmers.

During the launch, PM Modi remarked, "These two schemes are aimed at the self-reliance of our nation and will transform the lives of millions of farmers in India."

In New Delhi, farmers conveyed their appreciation to the Prime Minister, labeling the initiative as historic.

"We trust that these schemes will significantly benefit farmers. Our aspiration is to achieve 'Aatmanirbhar'. We are grateful to PM Modi for this," stated one farmer in an interview.

Another farmer added, "PM Modi's vision is remarkable and highly beneficial for us. Every step he has taken has empowered farmers."

Rajasthan's Chief Minister Bhajanlal Sharma joined the virtual launch from Jaipur and commended the initiatives.

State Agriculture and Horticulture Minister Kirodi Lal Meena commented, "The PM-DDKY and Mission for Aatmanirbharta in Pulses will immensely benefit the farming community. Both farmers and the nation will achieve self-reliance now."

Farmers in the state echoed similar sentiments.

"If these schemes are effectively executed, it will bring substantial happiness to farmers," one stated.

Another remarked, "This initiative from the Centre is commendable. It will be a great aid for us."

In Karnataka's Bidar, farmers and officials participated in a live broadcast of the Prime Minister's address.

Deputy Registrar of Cooperative Societies Manjula S. mentioned, "Our PKPS encompasses 190 units where the Pradhan Mantri Dhan Dhanya Krishi Yojana commenced today. All board members, directors, and farmers were present, focusing on the scheme's objective of Rs 24,000 crore."

Suryakant Vagdale, President of the Primary Agricultural Credit Cooperative Society, shared, "Villagers from surrounding areas gathered to watch the Prime Minister's program. Everyone is keenly following the event. We will keep farmers informed about the program through our cooperative groups."

In Odisha, Chief Minister Mohan Charan Majhi praised the launch of both schemes, calling them revolutionary for agriculture and empowering for farmers.

Nigama Chandra Sahu, a progressive farmer from Cuttack district, referred to the initiative as "a monumental step towards the empowerment of farmers and the transformation of agriculture."

"Today's launch heralds a new dawn for farmers in India. This visionary initiative will propel our nation forward and uplift millions of farming families," Sahu stated.

Sahu expressed his gratitude to the Prime Minister for his unwavering efforts, asserting, "No other leader has shown such profound understanding and dedication to farmers' welfare. His reforms, including GST adjustments and support schemes, are fostering tangible growth in the rural economy."

He also took pride in Odisha's selection in the first phase of the program, noting that four districts have been chosen.

"This will motivate our farmers to diversify crops and embrace modern agricultural practices," he said.

Regarding the Mission for Self-Reliance in Pulses Production, Sahu emphasized, "Encouraging pulse cultivation will create new income opportunities for farmers, decrease reliance on imports, and enhance India's self-sufficiency in the pulse sector. It will fortify our financial stability."

Another farmer, Chandra Martha, expressed, "It feels incredible to witness such a significant announcement from the Prime Minister. He has launched numerous projects and discussed various beneficial measures for farmers to enhance productivity. This marks the advent of a new agricultural era."

Chandra Martha praised PM Modi, stating, "No previous Prime Minister has given such concentrated attention to farmers' welfare. With these initiatives, we feel hopeful and grateful to both the Prime Minister and the Chief Minister for prioritizing farmers' prosperity."

Farmer Amardeep Patra from Jatni block expressed gratitude to both the Prime Minister and the Chief Minister for their farmer-centric initiatives.

"The introduction of the PM Dhan Dhanya Krishi Yojana and other announcements made today will greatly benefit farmers. With enhanced support, we will be able to boost our production, market our produce effectively, and earn substantial profits. This scheme will truly advance our villages," Patra stated.

He also recognized the Odisha government for increasing support to farmers.

"We appreciate the Chief Minister for providing an additional ₹800 in input subsidies over the MSP. This has encouraged more individuals in our district to return to farming. The state's commitment to farmers' welfare is indeed praiseworthy," he concluded.
