Chennai, July 17 (NationPress) Senior BJP leader and spokesperson from Tamil Nadu, A.N.S. Prasad, has praised the recently introduced PM Dhan-Dhaanya Krishi Yojana as a groundbreaking initiative that is set to reshape the future of agriculture in India.

Referring to it as a “trailblazing agricultural revitalization program”, Prasad stated that this scheme will establish new international benchmarks in farming techniques and enhance the livelihoods of millions who depend on agriculture.

Under the astute guidance of Prime Minister Narendra Modi, the program has received approval from the Union Cabinet, with a generous annual budget of Rs 24,000 crore for six years, starting from the Union Budget of 2025-26. The goal is to uplift 1.7 crore farmers and affect over 20 crore rural Indians who rely on agriculture for their sustenance.

“The Dhan-Dhaanya Krishi Yojana will herald a new age of innovation, renewal, and growth in India’s agricultural sector,” Prasad remarked.

“It stands as a testament to the Prime Minister’s steadfast dedication to empowering farmers and transforming India into a self-sufficient, developed nation by 2047, he added.

A significant aspect of this initiative is its holistic approach. It will integrate 36 existing schemes and be rolled out in 100 districts nationwide. The selected districts are known for low crop productivity, moderate crop density, and below-average access to credit—regions often overlooked in standard agricultural development.

The focus of the scheme is on promoting crop diversification, sustainable farming methods, post-harvest storage solutions, and enhanced irrigation systems. It also aims to incorporate modern agricultural technology and close the gap between potential and actual farm output, thereby increasing farmers' earnings and elevating their standard of living.

“The Dhan-Dhaanya Krishi Yojana is more than just a policy; it is a mission to empower the backbone of our nation—the farmers,” Prasad asserted.

“It will instill renewed confidence and optimism in agricultural communities, paving the way for a thriving and resilient rural India,” he concluded.

With its long-term vision and meticulous planning, this scheme is anticipated to be a cornerstone in India’s quest for agricultural excellence, positioning the nation as a global leader in sustainable farming.
