Srinagar, July 17 (NationPress) As conditions improved on Thursday, pilgrims were permitted to proceed from the two base camps of Baltal and Pahalgam towards the sacred Amarnath cave shrine. Over 2.51 lakh devotees have experienced 'Darshan' in the initial 15 days since the Yatra commenced on July 3.
Despite a brief halt due to inclement weather, the Yatra resumed as conditions cleared, allowing Yatris to make their way to the cave shrine from both Baltal and Nunwan (Pahalgam).
Officials reported that the Yatra continues to attract numerous devotees from all over India and beyond.
By 2 p.m. on Thursday, a total of 5,110 pilgrims had achieved darshan, raising the cumulative count of Yatris participating in the Yatra to over 2.51 lakh in just the first 15 days.
