Hyderabad, July 17 (NationPress) Bharat Rashtra Samithi (BRS) working president K. T. Rama Rao announced on Thursday that he would take Telangana Chief Minister A. Revanth Reddy to court over allegations linking him to a drug case. The former minister asserted that he would hold the Chief Minister accountable for his defamatory remarks.
“Revanth Reddy, I will drag you to the courts and make you pay for every slanderous statement of yours. Apologise or face the consequences,” Rama Rao warned the Chief Minister, shortly after the latter made the allegations during a media interaction in New Delhi.
“The filth Revanth Reddy spews in the name of media chit-chats has surpassed all levels of decency,” KTR expressed on social media platform X. “Until now, I had exercised restraint out of respect for the Chief Minister's office.”
“Let me ask you directly, Revanth, what is the basis for your statement about me being investigated in drug cases? Do you possess even an iota of proof? Is there any case registered? I challenge you to present the evidence you have to substantiate your claims or admit this is just another cheap, vulgar, baseless narrative of yours,” the BRS leader continued.
“You travel all the way to Delhi to throw filth at me under the guise of chit-chats because you lack the courage to confront me face to face. You hide like the coward you are and resort to character assassination so you can evade legal accountability. I will not back down any longer,” added KTR.
The Chief Minister alleged that KTR used drugs with an individual named Kedar in Dubai, claiming that Kedar died due to a mix of drugs.
Revanth Reddy stated he has a report concerning Kedar’s death and is prepared to present it in the Assembly. He also challenged a debate with BRS president and former Chief Minister K. Chandrasekhar Rao (KCR), who is the Leader of Opposition.
The Chief Minister clarified that he would not engage in a debate with KTR and remarked that KTR had previously secured a stay from the High Court in a drug case.
Revanth Reddy sharply rebutted claims by BRS leaders that he compromised Telangana’s interests by meeting with Andhra Pradesh Chief Minister Chandrababu Naidu and Union Jal Shakti Minister C. R. Paatil in Delhi on Wednesday.
He asserted that there is infighting within the KCR family, claiming that KTR demands the role of Leader of Opposition, which KCR has refused. He also alleged that Kavitha is unwilling to accept KTR's leadership.
