Hyderabad, July 18 (NationPress) K. T. Rama Rao, the working president of Bharat Rashtra Samithi (BRS), responded sharply to Chief Minister A. Revanth Reddy's allegations, accusing him of compromising Telangana’s interests for the benefit of his ‘guru’, Andhra Pradesh Chief Minister N. Chandrababu Naidu.
Rama Rao claimed that after being caught in a compromising situation following a meeting with Naidu in Delhi, Revanth Reddy resorted to false accusations to distract the public.
Popularly known as KTR, he challenged Revanth Reddy to provide any proof supporting his allegations regarding drug connections.
During a press conference in Khammam, he expressed his willingness to undergo tests and urged the Chief Minister to confront him directly rather than engaging in insulting banter with the media.
In a conversation with reporters in New Delhi the previous day, Revanth Reddy alleged that forensic reports linked KTR’s associates to drug usage, claiming that KTR’s friend, Kedar, died in Dubai due to a drug overdose.
KTR questioned how he was implicated in someone else's death and issued a challenge to Revanth Reddy to present the evidence.
He asserted that the wild accusations were a diversion from the 'guru dakshina' Revanth Reddy offered to Naidu, specifically regarding the Godavari-Banakacherla link project.
After previously stating he would not engage in discussions about the Banakacherla project, Revanth Reddy attended a meeting in Delhi and compromised the state's interests concerning river water.
KTR accused the Telangana Chief Minister of lying to the media by claiming the Banakacherla project was not discussed, despite Andhra Pradesh Irrigation Minister Nimmala Rama Naidu confirming it was the first agenda item.
Justice for Telangana regarding river water can only be achieved when the Modi government acknowledges Telangana's share of 968 TMC from the total 1950 TMC of surplus Godavari waters and when Chandrababu Naidu withdraws legal actions against Telangana's Kaleshwaram and other projects.
Rama Rao noted that whenever the BRS challenges Revanth Reddy regarding his unfulfilled promises, failures, or scandals, he deflects the conversation with allegations of phone tapping or other unrelated topics.
Despite having control over state police, Revanth Reddy has yet to substantiate a single claim.
In response to Revanth Reddy's assertion that he secretly met Andhra Pradesh Minister Nara Lokesh, KTR clarified he did not meet with Lokesh but indicated he would have no issue if he did.
“I operate openly. Lokesh is Chandrababu's son, not a criminal. He is a good friend and like a younger brother to me. Unlike you, he is educated and not a petty thief,” KTR remarked to Revanth Reddy.
KTR advised Revanth Reddy’s family to seek medical assistance for him before he loses his sanity and begins to wander the streets in disarray.
Reiterating that Revanth Reddy was caught in a cash-for-vote scandal, KTR expressed his readiness for a lie-detector test alongside the Chief Minister.
Moreover, he alleged that Revanth Reddy was involved in tapping the phones of Deputy Chief Minister Mallu Bhatti Vikramarka and other ministers, who are potential candidates for the Chief Minister position.
