London, April 2 (NationPress) The head coach of Tottenham, Ange Postecoglou, has addressed the remarks made by former manager Mauricio Pochettino, who recently expressed his desire to return to the team.

The Australian, noted for his sharp wit and candidness, stated that he did not perceive any disrespect from the comments of the current head coach of the US National men’s team.

"If Mauricio wishes to come back someday, I genuinely hope it occurs for him. Everyone has dreams and aspirations; if that's what he seeks. Are you implying that he is trying to exert pressure on me?

"I don’t feel disrespected at all. If you were to ask Mauricio that question directly, you would receive a clear response regarding his intentions. Again, I have no reason to dwell on that. My focus is more on ensuring we aim for victory tomorrow night," Postecoglou remarked during the pre-match press conference.

Postecoglou also commended Enzo Maresca and Chelsea ahead of their encounter at Stamford Bridge on Friday (IST).

This season, the North London club has faced significant injury challenges and currently ranks 14th in the Premier League, having secured victories in only 10 of 29 matches.

The Australian coach is optimistic that his team will rise to the occasion against the Blues as they seek to gain momentum heading into the final nine matches of the season.

"They have a talented squad, a good manager, and have had a positive season in terms of their development. They've also been affected by injuries. Playing at their ground, they are a formidable opponent. We eagerly anticipate the challenge.

"We recognize the importance of this match; they are a strong team, especially at home, and it presents a good challenge for us to build momentum for the remainder of the season," Postecoglou stated in the press conference.

Chelsea has historically dominated their encounters with Spurs in the Premier League, achieving 36 victories and netting 120 goals—the highest tally against any rival.

In fact, only three teams have scored more goals against a single opponent in Premier League history than Chelsea's 120 against Tottenham: Arsenal (124 against Everton), Manchester United (124 against Everton), and Liverpool (124 against Newcastle).
