Jaipur, Feb 2 (NationPress) Renowned Rajasthan political figure, a notable representative of the Gurjar community, and former cabinet minister Hem Singh Bhadana passed away on Monday at the age of 55.
His demise occurred around 7 a.m. at his home, following a courageous five-month battle with cancer. This tragic news has brought immense sorrow to both Alwar district and the broader political landscape of Rajasthan.
Bhadana had been receiving treatment at a private hospital in Jaipur for several weeks before being returned to his residence in Alwar, where he ultimately passed away. The announcement of his death prompted a profound sense of mourning throughout Alwar and his Assembly constituency, Thanagazi, as numerous supporters and party workers gathered at his residence in Veer Savarkar Nagar to pay their last respects.
Chief Minister Bhajanlal Sharma shared his heartfelt condolences over the loss of the former minister, describing it as a personal tragedy.
“The passing of Hem Singh Bhadana ji is deeply distressing. He was a committed public servant. I had personally checked on his health during his treatment and urged doctors to provide the best possible care, but fate had different plans,” the Chief Minister remarked.
He also offered prayers for the soul's peace and for strength for Bhadana’s grieving family. Bhadana’s political journey began in student politics. With a reputation for being straightforward and candid, he steadily progressed through the ranks of the Bharatiya Janata Party. He served two terms as an MLA from the Thanagazi Assembly constituency and later held a cabinet minister position in the Vasundhara Raje government, where he oversaw significant responsibilities.
Although based in Alwar city, Bhadana made it a point to frequently visit Thanagazi to address public concerns and maintain grassroots connections.
Even post his cancer diagnosis, he remained dedicated, continuing to engage with the public actively.
He participated in the 2023 Assembly elections with unwavering resolve but faced a narrow defeat.
Hem Singh Bhadana is survived by two sons; the elder is in business, while the younger, Surendra Bhadana, has stepped into politics to uphold his father's legacy.
As a gesture of respect, party officials announced the postponement of all scheduled programs for the day. The late leader's remains will be transported to his ancestral village, Bagheri in Kishangarhbas, where he will receive final rites with full state honors.
