Jaipur, Oct 10 (NationPress) Rajasthan Intelligence has apprehended an individual from Alwar for allegedly engaging in espionage on behalf of Pakistan’s Inter-Services Intelligence (ISI).
The suspect, named Mangat Singh and residing in Govindgarh within Alwar district, has been charged under the Official Secrets Act, 1923, as per an official statement released on Friday.
The arrest was made as part of Operation Sindoor, which aims to monitor sensitive regions throughout the state closely.
Alwar, due to its proximity to the National Capital Region (NCR), is recognized as a location of great sensitivity and strategic importance.
“During surveillance of the Alwar cantonment area, officials noted suspicious activities associated with Singh,” the official remarked.
Investigations indicated that Singh had maintained contact with operatives from the Pakistani intelligence agency via social media for the last two years.
“He was reportedly honey-trapped by a female Pakistani handler using the alias Isha Sharma, who offered financial incentives for his cooperation,” the official stated.
Singh is accused of disseminating sensitive information concerning the Alwar cantonment and various strategic sites in India through social media channels.
“Following questioning by various intelligence units at the Central Enquiry Centre, Jaipur, and a technical analysis of his mobile device, officials confirmed his involvement,” he added.
A case was subsequently filed against him under the Official Secrets Act, 1923, at the Special Police Station in Jaipur.
“Mangat Singh was detained by the CID (Intelligence), Rajasthan, on October 10, 2025,” the official disclosed.
In a related incident, the Police CID (Security) Intelligence arrested another suspected Pakistani spy from Jaisalmer, identified as Mahendra Prasad (32), who was managing the DRDO Guest House at the Chandan Field Firing Range.
Officials reported that he was in regular contact with a Pakistani intelligence handler and was leaking sensitive information regarding India's defense operations.
The Rajasthan Police also recently apprehended an individual in Jaisalmer district on espionage charges connected to Pakistan's ISI.
Vishnukant, IG CID, confirmed the arrest of Hanif Khan, a resident of Basanpeer Jooni in Jaisalmer, stating that Khan was transmitting confidential military information to the Pakistani agency in return for money.
Vishnukant emphasized that the Intelligence team is diligently monitoring espionage activities across the state.
