New Delhi, May 5 (NationPress) Rajasthan's Prachi and Mayank Choudhary secured the inaugural gold medal at the Khelo India Youth Games (KIYG) 2025 in Bihar, triumphing in a gripping contest against Uttar Pradesh in the 10m air pistol mixed team final held at the Dr. Karni Singh Shooting Range on Monday.

With the score tied at 15-15, Prachi, participating in her second KIYG, delivered a remarkable shot of 10.6 that clinched gold for Rajasthan. The silver medal went to Uttar Pradesh’s Dev Pratap and Urva Chaudhary.

“There were ups and downs throughout the match, but I’m elated that my final shot was sufficient for us to win gold. I’m thrilled to have achieved this milestone alongside Mayank,” expressed the 18-year-old from Bharatpur, Rajasthan. Prachi had previously been part of a team that secured silver.

In the final, one of the youngest competitors, Dev Pratap, showcased an impressive performance for Uttar Pradesh. The 14-year-old from Noida, participating in his first KIYG, stated, “Competing in the Games has been quite enjoyable.

Although I lack experience, I put forth my best effort. Maintaining patience was crucial. At times, I felt the need to hold off on firing and took my time to re-aim.”

Khelo India athlete Urva, who is competing in her third KIYG, commended her younger teammate. “It’s truly amazing to team up with him. He was shooting exceptionally well. There was a moment in the final round when we were down 2-10, but we managed to tie the score at 15-15,” she remarked.
