Patna, May 13 (NationPress) The remarkable endurance and speed of Rajasthan's cyclists were on full display once more at the Khelo India Youth Games (KIYG) 2025 in Bihar, where they secured five out of the six medals available in the 30km boys' and 20km girls' Time Trials along the stunning Marine Drive by the River Ganga. Ramavatar Chhimpa, son of a sweet shop owner from Nokha in Bikaner district, who trains at the National Centre of Excellence in Patiala, alongside Manju Choudhary, a farmer’s daughter who relocated from Barmer to Bikaner to chase her cycling dreams, both clinched the gold medals in their respective categories.
Starting last among 17 competitors, the 17-year-old Ramavatar Chhimpa exhibited remarkable patience, strategically warming up before his race. Focusing intently on his cadence, he completed the 30km course, divided into four 7.5km laps, in a time that was 38 seconds quicker than any other competitor. His enjoyment of the ride was evident, as was his recognition of having delivered his best performance.
In a similar vein, the 16-year-old Manju Choudhary found her voice through her cycling, pedaling with purpose and determination. Aware of the competition from her state and Maharashtra, she realized the importance of putting forth her best effort.
The only non-Rajasthan competitor to secure a podium finish was Maharashtra’s Jui Gajanan Narkar, who earned silver in the girls' event. Having previously finished second to Harshita Jakhar in the juniors' Time Trial at the National Championships, she likely regretted finishing over a minute behind Manju Choudhary.
The Bihar State Sports Authority effectively ensured a traffic-free carriageway for the competition, allowing the cyclists to race without interruptions. With excellent road conditions, the athletes were able to shine on this significant stage.

Boys' 30km Time Trial: 1. Ramavatar Chhimpa (Rajasthan) 40:21.245; 2. Mahadev Saran (Rajasthan) 40:59.486; 3. Mahaveer Saran (Rajasthan) 41:43.480.
