Jaipur, Aug 15 (NationPress) Chief Minister Bhajan Lal Sharma stated on Friday that under Prime Minister Narendra Modi's leadership, India has transformed into a self-reliant, prosperous, and happy nation, offering numerous opportunities for every citizen to advance. The country's global credibility has significantly improved, and India is set on the path to becoming the third-largest economy.
Chief Minister Sharma remarked, “Our double-engine government is dedicated to ensuring Rajasthan's prosperity and development.”
While addressing the 79th Independence Day celebrations at Barkatullah Khan Stadium, he extended greetings to the citizens and honored both renowned and unsung freedom fighters and martyrs. He expressed admiration for the armed forces safeguarding the nation's borders, alongside police, civil organizations, and social institutions engaged in nation-building.
He introduced the phrase “Jai Anusandhan” to the traditional slogan “Jai Jawan, Jai Kisan, Jai Vigyan,” emphasizing the accomplishments in indigenous Defense production through the 'Make in India' initiative.
The Chief Minister urged citizens to take pride in local products by embracing 'Vocal for Local' and swadeshi goods.
Regarding water self-reliance, he highlighted significant advancements in the Ramjal Setu Link Project, the Yamuna Water Agreement, and the completion of the Navnera Barrage. Under the 'Hariyalo Rajasthan Mission,' 15 crore saplings have already been planted out of a target of 50 crore over five years.
In infrastructure, he declared plans to develop a 53,000 km road network within five years, enhance rural connectivity, and boost renewable energy capacity to 125 GW by 2030.
Rajasthan has made remarkable strides in mineral block auctions, successfully allotting over 100 blocks out of 500 allocated nationwide.
For social welfare, initiatives include the Pandit Deendayal Upadhyaya Garibi Mukt Gaon Yojana, creating 4 lakh government and 6 lakh private jobs within five years, skill training for 3 lakh youth, subsidized gas cylinders, free medical treatment up to Rs 25 lakh, and programs supporting women, farmers, and girls' education.
The CM reaffirmed his commitment to women’s safety through 500 Kalika patrol units, three women battalions, 65 anti-Romeo squads, and anti-cybercrime initiatives.
