New Delhi, Oct 1 (NationPress) Rajesh Agrawal, an IAS officer from the 1994 batch, has officially assumed his position as the Secretary of the Department of Commerce within the Ministry of Commerce and Industry, as announced on Wednesday.

With nearly three decades of expertise in governance and policy implementation across diverse sectors such as skilling, human resource development, apprenticeship, power, fertiliser, agriculture, and MSMEs, Agrawal is a well-rounded administrator.

He has significantly contributed to the development of India’s skill initiatives and has represented the nation at the World Skills Governing Council for a span of three years.

Agrawal has been instrumental in introducing sectoral reforms in states like Manipur, Jharkhand, and Bihar.

Prior to his new role, he was at the forefront of India’s trade discussions associated with various Free Trade Agreements.
