New Delhi, April 9 (NationPress) - Defence Minister Rajnath Singh warmly congratulated General Phan Van Giang following his recent appointment as Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of National Defence of Vietnam. Singh expressed India's anticipation of enhancing their enduring defence collaboration.

On April 8, General Phan Van Giang was officially designated as the Deputy Prime Minister while also serving as the Minister of National Defence. This appointment was ratified by Vietnam's 16th National Assembly during its inaugural session, marking the commencement of the new government for the 2026–2031 term under Prime Minister Le Minh Hung. He joins five other officials in the Deputy Prime Minister role.
