Imphal, June 3 (NationPress) The Union Home Secretary, Govind Mohan, expressed his commitment to the displaced individuals affected by violence in Manipur, assuring them that comprehensive resettlement plans are being developed in close collaboration with district administrations.
The Home Secretary, accompanied by Intelligence Bureau Director Tapan Kumar Deka, spent two days in Manipur and informed that livelihood initiatives for relief camp residents are being designed to ensure economic dignity and sustainability for the affected families.
Manipur’s Commissioner (Home), N. Ashok Kumar, stated that the Union Home Secretary visited relief camps in both the hilly regions of Kangpokpi and the valley areas of Imphal East.
During his visit, he awarded recognition certificates and school supplies to students who recently completed their Class 10 and 12 examinations, and distributed Chief Minister-gi Hakshelgi Tengbang (CMHT) health assurance schemes and Ayushman Bharat Health Cards to newly registered Internally Displaced Persons (IDPs).
Govind Mohan also provided school supplies to children in the camps. The IDPs from the tribal community in Kangpokpi district expressed the need for improved healthcare facilities and examination centres in their area, as noted by the Commissioner (Home).
