Patna, Nov 26 (NationPress) The Rashtriya Lok Morcha (RLM), a member of the NDA coalition, encountered a significant blow on Wednesday as multiple senior leaders, among them National Vice President Jitendra Nath, resigned from the party.
Joining Jitendra Nath in this exodus were State General Secretary and Spokesperson Rahul Kumar, Rajesh Ranjan, Pramod Yadav, and several others, resulting in a critical disruption of the party's organizational framework.
In his resignation addressed to party national president Upendra Kushwaha, Jitendra Nath stated, “I have collaborated with you for nearly nine years, but I find it increasingly difficult to align with various political and organizational choices. In light of this, it’s best for me to resign from my duties and my primary membership of the party.”
Nath further accused Kushwaha of compromising the party's interests during seat-sharing discussions in the recent Bihar Assembly elections.
He asserted that Kushwaha marginalized loyal leaders to favor his son's political ambitions.
Nath highlighted that although Kushwaha’s wife triumphed in the election from Sasaram, she wasn't appointed as a minister.
“Does he not trust his wife?” he questioned.
Conversely, Kushwaha’s son—who did not win the election and is not a member of the Legislative Council—was granted a ministerial position, which, according to Nath, has triggered considerable discontent within the party.
He elaborated that party officials were deeply unhappy with the justifications Kushwaha provided after these decisions.
Deepak Prakash, Upendra Kushwaha’s son, has been appointed as the Panchayati Raj Minister in the Nitish Kumar administration.
State General Secretary Rahul Kumar echoed similar sentiments in his resignation letter, expressing discomfort over recent leadership decisions.
Party insiders reveal that a significant number of the resigning leaders felt marginalized during the recently completed Assembly elections.
The dissatisfaction reportedly escalated after the abrupt dissolution of the Sheikhpura District Committee one day before, as ordered by RLM state president Madan Chaudhary, further aggravating local leaders and workers.
The Rashtriya Lok Morcha participated in the Bihar Assembly elections under the NDA banner.
The party contested for six seats and successfully secured four, showcasing a commendable performance.
Nonetheless, internal organizational unrest within the party seems to be escalating.
