Patna, Nov 15 (NationPress) Following the Rashtriya Janata Dal's substantial loss in the Bihar Assembly elections, familial discord within Lalu Prasad Yadav's household has become more pronounced.
Lalu Prasad’s daughter, Rohini Acharya, has declared her withdrawal from politics and her decision to distance herself from her family.
In a post on X, Rohini expressed her choice to exit politics and cut familial ties, stating, “Sanjay Yadav and Rameez urged me to take this step… and I will accept full responsibility.”
This announcement has sparked fervent discussions within RJD circles.
Her comments highlight increasing dissatisfaction among some family members directed at Tejashwi Yadav's close associate, Sanjay Yadav.
Although Rohini did not provide further details, her statements imply a belief that Tejashwi’s advisors contributed to the party’s dismal electoral results.
This latest controversy adds another layer of distress for the RJD, which is currently dealing with the repercussions of its electoral defeat.
Rohini Acharya's recent remarks are not her first criticism of Tejashwi Yadav’s close aide and RJD Rajya Sabha MP, Sanjay Yadav.
Previously, she also voiced her discontent with Sanjay Yadav, attributing her brother Tej Pratap Yadav's rift with both the family and the party to him.
This issue, however, received limited attention earlier due to the ongoing Bihar Assembly elections.
In a past Instagram post, Rohini stated that those ready to make significant sacrifices, risking their lives, possess fearlessness, boldness, and self-respect in their blood.
Moreover, she mentioned, “I have honored my duty and dharma as a daughter and sister and will persist in doing so. I harbor no aspirations for any position, nor do I have political ambitions. My self-respect is my utmost priority.”
She further remarked that the front seat is always reserved for the top leader, and no one should occupy it in their absence, asserting that believing oneself to be above the top leadership showcases a different mindset.
