Dubai, Feb 20 (NationPress) Captain Rohit Sharma has officially become the fourth Indian men's batsman and the tenth player overall to surpass 11,000 runs in One Day Internationals (ODIs) during the 2025 Champions Trophy Group A match against Bangladesh at the Dubai International Stadium on Thursday.

Rohit, a right-handed batsman, achieved the 11,000 ODI run milestone by driving Mustafizur Rahman for a boundary on the fifth ball of the fourth over. He has now entered the elite 11,000 ODI runs club, joining the ranks of Sachin Tendulkar, Virat Kohli, and Sourav Ganguly.

With this achievement, he became the second-fastest men's player to reach 11,000 ODI runs, accomplishing the feat in 261 innings, just behind Kohli, who did it in 222 innings. In terms of balls faced, Rohit is also the second fastest, having faced 11,868 deliveries, while Kohli needed 11,831 balls.

Sachin Tendulkar remains the all-time leading run-scorer in ODIs with over 18,000 runs in 452 innings, while Kumar Sangakkara from Sri Lanka follows with 14,234 runs.

The record is held by Mitchell Starc from Australia, who accomplished it in 102 matches. Additionally, Shami is the fastest bowler to achieve 200 ODI wickets in terms of balls bowled, with a total of 5,126 deliveries, ahead of Starc's 5,240 balls.
