Mumbai, Oct 15 (NationPress) Bollywood icon Salman Khan was present at the funeral of the late actor Pankaj Dheer on Wednesday. A multitude of film and television figures convened to express their final tributes to the deceased.
The renowned superstar was attired in a modest olive-green shirt and appeared somber as he arrived to extend his condolences to the grieving family. Pankaj Dheer, famed for his portrayal of Karna in the television classic ‘Mahabharat’, had previously collaborated with Salman Khan in films like ‘Sanam Bewafa’ and ‘Tumko Na Bhool Paayenge’. The late actor's son, Nikitin Dheer, has also shared the screen with Salman in hits such as ‘Ready’ and ‘Dabangg 2’.
The funeral service took place at Pawan Hans Crematorium located in the Vile Parle West area of Mumbai. Actor Mukesh Rishi was spotted at the cremation site, standing silently alongside other members of the industry.
As per media reports, the actor passed away at the age of 68 following his battle with cancer.
His co-star Arjun Feroz Khan, who played Arjuna in the series, shared a heartfelt tribute on Instagram Stories, stating, "Gentleman!!! Bids goodbye (teary-eyed emoji) will miss you PD (broken heart emoji) Stay blessed (Sparkle emojis)". He also posted a nostalgic image with the late actor.
The official Instagram account of CINTAA (Cine & TV Artistes’ Association) released a statement about the actor's passing. They expressed, "CINTAA and CAWT mourn the loss of Shri Pankaj Dheer ji, former General Secretary of CINTAA and former Chairman of CAWT — a cherished member of our community whose significant contributions to Indian cinema and television will remain in our hearts. Funeral today at 4:30 PM at Pawan Hans Crematorium, Vile Parle (W). Om Shanti".
