Mysuru, Oct 18 (NationPress) In light of the criticism regarding the supposed targeting of the Rashtriya Swayamsevak Sangh (RSS) through a new mandate requiring all private entities to secure permission for events in public venues, Karnataka Chief Minister Siddaramaiah asserted that there is no intention to single out the Sangh.
While addressing media in Mysuru, Siddaramaiah explained, "The requirement for permission is applicable to all organizations. This regulation was established during the BJP administration led by Jagadish Shettar, and we are merely reiterating it. Why did the BJP not object when the rule was enacted during their time?"
When questioned about whether the RSS is being specifically targeted, he remarked, "Our regulations encompass all private organizations. The BJP tends to engage in political theatrics and remains oblivious to genuine issues affecting the underprivileged."
Addressing the uncertainty surrounding the RSS foot march in Kundapur, he clarified that his government issued a directive akin to one made by the previous BJP government. There was no dissent regarding the earlier order, which does not discriminate against any organization.
The BJP has focused on political maneuvers rather than prioritizing public welfare. The Police Department will ensure that order is maintained throughout this situation.
Later, while inaugurating the Silver Jubilee celebrations of Mysore University and the new Jnana Darshan building, Chief Minister Siddaramaiah urged vigilance against the Sangh Parivar and RSS, claiming they have historically opposed B.R. Ambedkar's Constitution and continue to do so.
Siddaramaiah commended Ambedkar as a visionary who utilized his intellect to instigate social changes. He meticulously analyzed society and applied his insights for societal improvement throughout his life.
He criticized BJP leaders and members of the Sangh Parivar for disseminating misinformation in Ambedkar's honor.
"They argue that Congress triumphed over them in elections, yet the reality is that Ambedkar explicitly stated in his own writings that he faced defeat at the hands of Savarkar and Dange," stated Siddaramaiah.
He urged society to unveil the deceptions of the Sangh Parivar by presenting the truth.
Referring to the incident where a shoe was hurled at Chief Justice of India B. R. Gavai, he noted it as evidence that remnants of orthodox, casteist, and elitist mindsets persist in society.
Siddaramaiah expressed his support for the inauguration of the 'World Scholar Ambedkar Sabha Bhavan' in conjunction with the 25th anniversary of the Ambedkar Study Centre at Mysore University.
