Mysuru, Oct 18 (NationPress) Karnataka Chief Minister Siddaramaiah urged citizens to steer clear of Sanatanis, advocating for companionship with those who genuinely support societal progress and distancing themselves from adversaries of social change and Sanatanis.
During the inauguration of the Silver Jubilee celebrations for Mysore University and the new Jnana Darshan building, Siddaramaiah emphasized the importance of vigilance against the Sangh Parivar and RSS, claiming that their opposition to B.R. Ambedkar’s Constitution persists to this day.
Siddaramaiah commended Ambedkar as a remarkable visionary who utilized his intellect to instigate social reform.
“He thoroughly analyzed society to gain insights and utilized his wisdom throughout his life to enhance societal conditions,” Siddaramaiah remarked.
He criticized the BJP and members of the Sangh Parivar for disseminating misleading narratives in Ambedkar’s name.
“They assert that Congress has defeated them in elections, yet the reality is that Ambedkar himself documented in his own handwriting that he was defeated by Savarkar and Dange,” Siddaramaiah elucidated.
He called on society to counteract the falsehoods propagated by the Sangh Parivar by revealing the truth.
He conveyed that he established the Ambedkar School of Economics to ensure that students there would adhere to Ambedkar’s principles.
“Ambedkar is irreplaceable. However, everyone should embrace his ideals and follow his path,” he stated.
Siddaramaiah elaborated that Ambedkar examined constitutions from various nations, integrated the best concepts, and provided India with an exceptional constitution tailored to Indian society.
Referring to an incident where a shoe was thrown at the Chief Justice of the Supreme Court, he pointed out that it serves as evidence of the lingering presence of orthodox, casteist, and elitist mindsets within society.
He asserted that the shoe-throwing incident is not solely a Dalit concern; it is a matter that requires collective opposition.
“Only through unity can society progress towards change. I believe in the teachings of Buddha, Basava, and Ambedkar. This is why we must cultivate rationality and scientific reasoning. Even after acquiring knowledge in science, one should not succumb to superstition,” he urged.
Siddaramaiah welcomed the inauguration of the World Scholar Ambedkar Sabha Bhavan to commemorate the 25th anniversary of the Ambedkar Study Centre at Mysore University.
He noted that inequality stems from the lack of equal opportunities.
“Education is not a commodity inherited from parents; opportunities must be created. When opportunities are made available, individuals become knowledgeable and wise,” he concluded.
Siddaramaiah emphasized that Ambedkar was a visionary who applied his knowledge for societal transformation.
