He took part in the ‘Surya Namaskar’ event held at a government school in Bhopal to commemorate the day.
“Swami Vivekananda ji, the source of inspiration for youth, illuminated the way for global welfare through spiritual energy, philosophy, and introspection. He motivated the youth to engage in nation-building. I bow down countless times at his feet,” Yadav expressed.
Following his participation in Surya Namaskar and Pranayam, the Chief Minister addressed the Youth Diwas event, voicing concerns regarding the alarming increase in drug addiction among the youth in the state.
The Chief Minister remarked that it is disheartening to witness the swift rise of drug addiction among young individuals and encouraged schoolchildren to refrain from it to secure a better future. Yadav condemned drug abuse as a social menace that is eroding the foundations of family values and society.
“I urge our youth to practice Surya Namaskar daily. This routine will help maintain their mental and physical health and protect them from drug addiction,” the Chief Minister added during his address.
Madhya Pradesh’s Public Works Minister Rakesh Singh, along with School Education Minister Uday Pratap Singh and local BJP MLA Bhagwandas Sabani, also took part in the ‘Surya Namaskar’ event.
In observance of Swami Vivekananda's birth anniversary, celebrated as “Youth Diwas” nationwide on Monday, the Madhya Pradesh government arranged ‘Surya Namaskar’ and ‘Pranayam’ activities in all government and private schools, which were attended by district administrative officials and local public representatives.
According to a notification from the School Education Department on Sunday, students from Class 6 to 12, alongside their parents and teachers, will engage in the ‘Surya Namaskar’ program. District administrations were instructed to ensure all necessary preparations for the event in schools across their regions.
