Mumbai, July 17 (NationPress) Actress Tara Sharma, known for her role in ‘Masti’, reminisced about her late secretary, Rajkumar Tiwari, who significantly influenced her film career.
Expressing her heartfelt gratitude for his steadfast support, Tara highlighted that many prominent films in her portfolio were a result of Tiwari's dedication. On Thursday, she shared a touching post on Instagram featuring a picture of her first and only genuine film industry 'secretary', accompanied by a meaningful message.
The ‘Page 3’ star wrote, “I am deeply saddened by Tiwariji’s demise.” He was my first and only true film industry 'secretary', a term used before the advent of managers or agents. My deepest condolences to his family. Although we hadn't seen each other in a while, I cherish my memories of Tiwariji and remain grateful for our collaboration. Most of the significant films I participated in were brought to me through his efforts. He connected me with the producers, and most of those opportunities panned out.”
“We shared a unique relationship built on mutual respect. He represented many prominent personalities but dedicated his best efforts to make each of us feel valued. I had the opportunity to express my gratitude to him numerous times, and even when I heard of his illness, he, being the proud man he was, may not have wished for us to see him in a vulnerable state, although we certainly would have liked to. In today's world, where major agencies dominate talent management, I often find that I manage my career best, as I don't think large agencies consider me a hot property, and newer smaller agencies don't completely understand my diverse pursuits.”
Tara continued, “From discovering me when the esteemed Feroze Khan offered me a film, to recognizing my artistic sensibilities and securing roles in films like Om Jai Jagadish, Masti, Page 3, Bardaasth, and others, thank you. You valued my family and respected my decision to prioritize my kids after marriage. Although film offers dwindled, you appreciated my show and reinventions. When new films started coming my way, you reached out to congratulate me. Thank you.”
“While many commend today's professionalism—and indeed there are commendable aspects—there were also many dedicated agents back then. Though deals may have transpired in less formal settings, having representation from someone who truly understood you was invaluable. He was aware of my comfort levels and supported me in navigating the film industry, which was relatively new to me after my corporate career. His respect for my parents and acknowledgment of my background, while it may seem old-fashioned, was genuinely touching. Rest in peace.”
On July 16, actor Riteish Deshmukh took to social media to announce the sorrowful news of his longtime manager, Rajkumar Tiwari’s passing. Tiwari had been an integral part of Riteish’s film journey from the beginning.
Beyond being a manager, Rajkumar Tiwari was a renowned figure in Bollywood, having spent a significant part of his life in the industry and collaborated with cinematic legends such as Vinod Khanna and Feroz Khan throughout his extensive career.
