Patna, May 25 (NationPress) The political landscape remains turbulent following the expulsion of Tej Pratap Yadav, the eldest son of RJD chief Lalu Prasad Yadav. Former Bihar chief minister and Union Minister Jitan Ram Manjhi has launched a scathing critique against the RJD leader, raising questions about the selective morality and timing behind this disciplinary action.
Manjhi, who serves as the patron of the Hindustani Awam Morcha (HAM), condemned Lalu Prasad's decision to expel Tej Pratap for a duration of six years from both the party and the family. This decision followed a viral video and images that depicted Tej Pratap with Anushka Yadav, a woman he claims to be in a long-term relationship with.
“When Daroga Prasad Rai's granddaughter, Aishwarya Rai, was violently removed from the household, why did your values and ethics remain dormant, Lalu Yadav?” Manjhi questioned.
“If you genuinely valued dignity and culture, you should have expelled those responsible for Aishwarya’s mistreatment at that time,” he added.
The controversy resurfaced as photos and videos of Tej Pratap Yadav with Anushka Yadav gained traction on social media.
Initially, Tej Pratap alleged that his Facebook account had been hacked; however, as the content gained traction, Lalu Prasad opted to take the drastic action of disowning and suspending Tej Pratap from both the party and the family.
Nonetheless, Manjhi dismissed the moral justification behind this decision, calling it a case of “too little, too late.”
Reflecting on past incidents, Manjhi accused Rabri Devi, Lalu Prasad’s wife and former Bihar CM, of physically assaulting Aishwarya Rai before she was expelled from the family.
“You preach sanskar (values) and maryada (dignity), Lalu Yadav, yet when Aishwarya was beaten and humiliated, you took no action. Where was your commitment to culture then?” Manjhi remarked.
He further inquired why no actions were taken against family members who allegedly mistreated Aishwarya and why she was left to fend for herself after her marriage soured almost immediately.
Earlier, Manjhi made a strong statement on X, asserting political repercussions: “Every woman in Bihar will seek justice for the wrongs done to Daroga Babu’s granddaughter Aishwarya Rai in the upcoming elections,” he wrote.
He also cautioned the Lalu family against repeating the same mistakes with Anushka Yadav, insinuating that the family's decisions are motivated by political interests rather than ethical considerations.
“If Tej Pratap was in a relationship prior to marriage, why ruin another girl's life? Will the Lalu family now jeopardize Anushka Yadav’s future for political gain?” Manjhi questioned.
