Synopsis
Key Takeaways
Hyderabad, Dec 24 (NationPress) The Anti-Corruption Bureau (ACB) of Telangana is intensifying its investigation into a transport department official who allegedly accumulated assets exceeding Rs 100 crore. The inquiry into the disproportionate assets of Mood Kishan, the Deputy Transport Commissioner for Mahabubnagar district, revealed shocking findings regarding his wealth.
While the documented value of his assets is around Rs 12.72 crore, the actual market valuation is estimated to surpass Rs 100 crore.
Notably, his 31-acre agricultural land located in Sangareddy district, near Hyderabad, is valued at over Rs 60 crore.
On Tuesday, ACB conducted thorough searches at his residence and 11 additional sites associated with him, his relatives, and associates, uncovering numerous movable and immovable assets.
Among these discoveries are a 50 percent stake in Lahari International Hotel, a 3000 square yards premium furniture showroom, two flats in Ashoka Township, and 10 acres of commercial land in Nizamabad.
ACB also reported that Mood Kishan possesses 31 acres of agricultural land, a polyhouse, and a shed in a 4000 square feet area within Nizampet mandal of Sangareddy, along with two vehicles (Innova Crysta and Honda City) and 1000.4 grams of gold ornaments.
Additionally, the anti-graft agency identified a bank balance of Rs 1.37 crore.
Investigators suspect that Kishan's driver, Enugu Shivshankar, may be acting as his 'benami', as some properties are registered under his name, including three cars.
After the ACB initiated searches at Kishan's residence and other locations, his driver has since gone missing. ACB officials are optimistic about unearthing more assets through questioning Shivashankar.
Shivashankar was residing in a luxurious house in the Alwal area of Hyderabad, where he claimed to be a software professional to the tenants.
Previously, the ACB had discovered assets worth Rs 250 crore linked to a town planning official in Hyderabad last year.
Shiva Balakrishna was the Secretary of the Telangana State Real Estate Regulatory Authority (TSRERA) and the former Director of the Hyderabad Metropolitan Development Authority (HMDA).
